Would it be out of line?

Apr 4, 2012 at 9:52 PM

I know this feature request isn't exactly in line with this utility but it sure would be nice to have a feature such as "rename this file to a unique name" or send this file to x folder with a unique name and leave the path to the unique file name on the clipboard.

Although related in a way, the unique renaming algorithm is not really part of PCC per-se. I'd say this would call for a different utility. Although one would be free to fork Path Copy Copy to kickstart this new utility if needed.

When using the Test button the result is correct but when actually using the
menus it still leave the extension on the file name.

Also related, it would be possible to create a custom command to remove the
file extension from a path. In the Find / Replace part of the custom command
config, select "Use regular expressions" and enter the following in the "Find
what" textbox: \.[^.]+$ Leave the "Replace with" textbox blank.

Strangely I moved my reply to the proper thread, but your answer ended up here. Weird :-)

Again, I must admit that testing it here works fine. Could you export your custom command and attach the resulting .pccpp file to the following work item:

I'll take a look. Thank you!
